Weekend Fun

Don’t you hate when you have a great weekend planned, but it all seems to go by so quickly? Ya, well, I can’t believe it’s already Monday, let’s put it that way...

= FRIDAY =
The hubs and I went to one of our favorite restaurants downtown called Executive Surf Club then we walked around and took in the Art Walk which is held on the first Friday of the month. After that, we went back to the E.S.C. and got to listen to an amazing local band called Latin Talk! They were amazing and I definitely found myself tapping my toes the whole time! I had to "like" them on Facebook immediately! We will definitely be looking out for them on the Corpus music scene. We had such a great time but I am pretty bummed that I didn't take any pictures of the night festivities. :( I was just so lost in the moment that I forgot! Next time my dears, I promise!

= SATURDAY =
We were surprised and ecstatic to hear on Friday night that Robby's older brother Christopher, his wife Jennifer and their adorable two children Hannah (3 years old) and Clayton (6 months) had come into town from Houston. They were staying with Robby's mom and step-dad but to say the least I was very excited to see them and their little tikes!
For lunch we went to eat at  the other Hester's which is located at the Art Museum which has some of the best views of the bay in Corpus! It is right on the water and looks out to the Texas State Aquarium and the historical U.S.S. Lexington! Also, (even though your not supposed to and because Robby's mom is not bashful and was certain that her brother was in a picture showcased in the museum) we were able to walk around and look at the exhibits trying to find it after lunch! Turns out she was thinking of another museum lol (which is SOOOO like her)so we ended up getting escorted out without getting to see it... Once outside, we were able to take in the beautiful water gardens that are pretty awesome and kind of reminiscent of an old roman stadium! Hannah and I had quite a bit of fun down there which is where these photos were taken.
One again, I wish that I would have taken more pictures to document all of the fun but we got a couple of good ones!
P.S. don't mind the mess of a hairstyle though as it was a usual windy day in Corpus!

We love being "Uncle Wobby" and "Aunt Ra-hol"
Nana and Hannah <3

Then Saturday night we got to go out with Christopher and Jennifer and went to a local ice house called Brewster's Street to see a Texas country singer named J.R. Castillo!

= SUNDAY =
We got to all go to church together and hear another amazing sermon by the amazingly talented, Pastor Bil Cornelius at Bay Area Fellowship! Oh, and I got to make my banana bread! Recipe here. My sweet and adorable husband did the photo shoot for the end result!

He was so excited that I had to give him a piece right after I made it! Also, now that I think about it, I do believe that asking if he could have a piece was the first thing he said to me this morning...
Oh also, I did run into a little issue when making the banana bread yesterday and I just thought that I would share my solution in case any of you run into this problem... As the grocery store does not sell liquor I had planned on going to the liquor store but of course, I forgot and so with it being Sunday when I start making it and the liquor stores being closed I was in a definite bind! But I learned that you can substitute molasses with a little bit of pineapple juice to thin it out and a tad bit of almond extract! Just a note*
All in all, we had such a good time this weekend and it was well worth it to postpone our day trip to S.A. to another weekend in the near future so I could see my adorable little niece, Hannah!
But, I  need a serious nap after a weekend like this one’s! Being around a 3 year old wears you out!

I hope that everybody has a quick and easy week this week and that your weekend was restful and rejuvenating!
