Fancy Word of the Day: Supercilious

Fancy word every sophisticated honey should know: supercilious
Why I chose this fancy word: Occasionally, even the most graceful are exposed to those of the unsavory kind—the snobby co-worker, the holier-than-thou roommate, and the conceited sales clerk all threaten to ruin our sunny days. Now, I know sometimes it’s hard to hold back what you really think.... So when those moments come, reach into your proverbial vocab handbag for supercilious, a much nicer way of naming your assailant. Your vulgar company won’t even know what hit ‘em.
Definition: supercilious (adj.) pronunciation: soop-ohr-silly-us
  1. Behaving as if one is superior. Haughty, condescending, overbearing.
Use this word in a sentence: "After getting that promotion, Sarah had the most supercilious attitude towards the other secretaries in the office.”
