Akansas Part I

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back on. We had such an amazing time up in Little Rock and took way too many pictures which I will spare you from having to look at all of them in one post. I am just going to post a few of my favorites and the rest will be on my facebook if you would like to explore today or wait until some further posts to see the others!

So, the most memorable moment of the trip for me-- the (almost tearful) reunion at the airport.
The minute I turned my phone on in the plane once we had landed, Kati was calling me! I just started laughing knowing that she was probably bouncing off the walls with excitement to see us and instantly felt sorry for whoever was standing next to her. Once we had got off the plane we started making our way to the baggage claim. Disoriented, I am just following the signs and then out of the corner my eye I see this person jumping up and down, freaking out so I look over and to my not-so surprise, it is Kati! She is being held back by a rope divider but is almost knocking it over. Once we get within arms reach she decides to be a rebel and cross the line and nearly knocks over an elderly woman and her husband in the process! I was laughing so hard and then as soon she grabbed me we both (almost) starting crying! Robby was ready and snapped what has turned out to be my favorite picture!

Once we got settled, we were downtown bound to see what the best of Arkansas' night life had to offer! We went to the Capital Hotel which a beautiful historic hotel. We got to have a private tour of the wine cellar and the kitchen by Darrell who just happens to be a fellow Texan too!

They had bottles and bottles of every different kind of wine you could think of and the most expensive bottle which we got to see was $2,250.00 a bottle. That is just a little out of my price range but I definitely felt like a rockstar getting to hold it anyways! hehe The bottom picture was only a small nook down there but this shows the amount and beauty of the cellar.

The Capital turned out to be one of my favorite hangouts with a second story covered patio that had a magical atmosphere that is reminiscent of how I imagine it would be at a chic hotel in Paris... Oh, one day... one day! Needless to say, I just fell in love with the place. We went out to a few other spots on the town but always found ourselves winding down out there overlooking beautiful historic downtown Little Rock!

While we were there we were able to see the lighting of the largest real Christmas tree in Arkansas! It was amazing and the smell was so strong you could literally smell it walking up to the building!

We really took advantage of our vacation and did a lot of sight-seeing; visiting a few of the many museums, landmarks and even a local brewery but I am going to save the rest for tomorrow. xoxo
