DRINK YOUR TUMMY AWAY! (naturally)

Are you bikini ready????
Ok, so those that know me, know that I am not really a fan of dieting... The first three letters in "die"-t say it all. I am more interested in healthy and holistic than some "cut this or that" fad that is nearly impossible to stick with.
The hubby and I try to eat healthy, go for regular walks and try to stay as active as possible (schedule permitting, of course!) Lately though, I have really been doing my research trying to find natural cleanses and metabolism boosters to get my body in the right state and after quite a bit of reading I ran across this and had to share...
It is a honey and cinnamon "tea" that you drink twice a day and the benefits are out of this world. Not only is it shown to block the production of fat in the body but it also has so many health benefits and the best part... it is all natural and the ingredients are all found in your pantry! Bottom line is, it was a no brainer to add to my daily routine and I hope that after reading this, it will be for you too!

Girls' Night

GIRLS' NIGHT IN!!!! It has been talked about before but the more I think about it I feel like it is turning into a must!... and SOON! A real honest-to-goodness fancy girls' night! Doesn’t it sound like fun!? The best part is here is the dress code for such an occassion:

These last couple of weeks have been crazy busy and utterly exhausting and today is no exception. To say I need a little girly pamper time is an understatement! All I can do now is day dream about lounging around in some cute pj's, munching on massive amounts of popcorn and sweets, and what would a girls' night be without champagne and fruity drinks!? Who's with me?

SPRING LOOKS TO DIE FOR!

With our weather being so "wishy washy" lately it is driving me crazy and making it very difficult to plan outfits! One day it's cold, the next bright and sunny so all I can say is it has really made me so ready for Spring. Now, I know I really shouldn't say anything being that I live on the coast and our "winters" are anything but cold and harsh but it is still frustrating when it is not quite warm enough to consistently wear easy pieces like dresses and tops without sweaters. I've had some looks pinned on Pinterest that I am just thirsting to try this upcoming season. Some of my favorites being can be found in Hackwith Design's Spring 2013 line! Talk about obsessed!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Not your typical Valentine's day cards and that is why I absolutely love them ! They are just too cute!

This year, the hubby got me a potted plant with the most beautiful hot pink flowers and if you know me then you know it was the perfect gift! He started to tell me why he got these instead of roses, making sure to inform me that he had no problem running back to the store to pick some up if I wasn't too keen on the idea... Like I would wouldn't like it... silly boy!... But anyways, he told me that he had rather get me a potted plant that I could hang in the back yard than get me some roses that would just end up dying in a couple of days.
Can we all just take a moment to think how adorable he is!?! I am so in love with this man and while I absolutely loved how much he thought this through the resemblance of the "love fern", a la Kate Hudson in the movie "How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days" was not lost on me so it kind of made me giggle!

Happy Valentine's Day everybody and if you don't have a "special someone" then don't fret! Treat yourself and do something that makes you feel like the princess you are! Get in a bubble bath, paint your nails, make some chocolate covered strawberries or heck, splurge and buy some, darnit! Get yourself a bottle of your favorite bubbly and in my experience, whatever you do DON'T watch any chick-flicks! :)

DIY: valentine's candy necklaces

Ok, so with Valentine's Day (the second biggest sweet tooth holiday) right around the corner and me being utterly unprepared this year I have been kind of at a loss as to what to do...

So, today I decided I had to figure something out and after a little bit of head scratching, I think I have finally figured out how I am going to send some love to my friends and family!

Why not do an absolutely scrumptous DIY project that I think kids and adults alike will enjoy!?!

...DIY Candy Necklaces...

So, after a little bit of searching, I ran across this website called paper and cake and was hit with Cupid's arrow >--->! I mean, who wouldn't be obsessed with the deliciously creative way they made them! Absolutely adorable! I am like a moth to the light when it comes to bright colors and well... anything sweet... hehe

Here are some pictures from their website and instructions! Enjoy!

Supplies:
  • Favor boxes (we used 4" clear cube boxes)
  • a skewer
  • Embroidery Floss (to match your candy colors)
  • Cereal with holes (like Fruit Loops) a large box will fill 10 favor boxes
  • Candies (take a favor box with you to the candy store so you can get a sense of how much you need to fill each box)

1. Play with your color palette ~ you could do each box in a single color group, or include the whole rainbow!
2. Trim Licorice Belts into small squares.  Using a skewer, poke a hole through licorice belts and other chewy candies.
3. Layer the cereal, then candies in each box.
4. Place a length of embroidery floss - tied at one end with a Fruit Loop and knotted at the other - on top of the candies inside the box.
5. You can make your own labels with pretty scrapbook papers and card stock or you can download their Couture Candy Labels for free! Affix labels to box front.
6. Tie some rock candy to the box with some cording or ribbon.

7. Then let your friends have a blast making their own candy necklaces!

Well hopefully this gives you as much Valentine's Day inspiration as it did for me!
